Where is such-and-such on the website?!
At the top of each web page you will see a list of the main categories. Most visitors will desire the pages under "Membership Resources;" hover over it and see the sub pages available. There is also a search box above and on the Home page.
When does the calendar of events come out?
The calendar has to get approved by the Board in May, then confirmed by the various venues, usually mid-summer. It will be emailed to membership, as well as available for download on the Calendar page.
How can I get calendar changes throughout the year?
The current link to the calendar is to a document that can be edited regularly, if needed. If you always look there, it will be up-to-date. Emails will also be sent out to notify of any changes to the calendar. It is imperative that you change your email with MTNA because DSMTA gets your contact info from there. Even if you have emailed from your new email, our list comes from MTNA, not previous emails.
How can I get the Theory Papers? It is asking for a password!
Yes, you must be a current DSMTA member or student to use the copyrighted Theory Papers. If you are a current member, your newsletters have the password. (If you cannot find a newsletter in your email, please contact Kerry. Note that gmail "bundles" the newsletter into "Promotions" so do a search for "DSMTA newsletter" and it may come up in your email.)
How do I register for festivals?
Under Membership Resources, go to "Festival Registrations". Instructions for logging in are on the page.
Where can I get the current festival rules?
You can download them and view them at Festival Guidelines.
What forms do I need for each festival?
Paper forms are being phased out. Please register online. All info is on the Festival Registration page. Forms online do not need "transmittal" or "application" forms as we used to have. Theory and Solo Piano still have a Volunteer requirement, which is listed on the Festival Registration page and done via online submission.
If you are still using paper copies, you need the Festival Transmittal Form for every festival, except Theory. (The Theory Festival Transmittal is for that festival.) You also need the individual festival's application. Example, you are participating in the Piano Solo Festival in April. You need the Solo Piano Application (for each student) and the Transmittal Form. It is imperative you use the forms that show $20 fees or your paper forms will NOT be processed. DSMTA will have to pay someone to enter in your data.
Where do I send my forms?
Each year this changes as the Chairs change for each festival. Look in the Membership Directory for the Chair's address (the password has been sent to membership many times, so do a search in your emails if you are unsure.) The calendar also has addresses for applications on it.

I can't get the forms to print or save!
Please register online. If you absolutely must use paper, you must download the forms and open them from your computer. It will ensure that the fill-in part works and saves correctly. Anything else will not save your work. You must DOWNLOAD them and save them to your computer hard drive before you begin working in them.
My form doesn't print on the backside!
To print on the backside of a page you either need to have a printer that prints double-sided (you choose it in the options) or you need to print the first page and then re-feed it back into your printer and print the second page. Or use a staple and don't worry about it.
How can I save time doing these forms?
By registering online! When you register online all your teacher data fills in for each student automatically, and each student is saved year-to-year for easy auto-fill.
