Recitals
Quarterly Recitals-
DSMTA Recitals offer a wonderful opportunity for your students to take part in a multi-studio event. Students are exposed and inspired by students of varying degrees of proficiency---from very early to very advanced! Please consider entering a few (or a lot!!) of students during the '24-'25 school year. Recital dates and venues may be found on the DSMTA Calendar. If you have questions please contact Stephanie Ferguson.

Guidelines/Rules:
Special instructions for registering ensembles for DSMTA recitals on the Tenuto system:
If your students are ONLY doing ensemble pieces, sign one student up so there is only one fee. Then put a note in the "Comment to Chair" box that has the other student's name and that they are duets.
If your students are doing both solo and ensemble pieces, you need to register each student for any solo pieces, but put the ensemble piece under only ONE of the student's registrations. Then make a note to the recital Chair that Student X is additionally on the XYZ ensemble piece. This way the ensemble piece does not give extra time to each student's fee.
(The students themselves can Venmo each other the $2-3 if the one student doesn't want to hold the whole ensemble time fee on his application, but it's not worth the cost of fixing the Tenuto system for such rare occasions.)

Guidelines/Rules:
- Students do not acquire points for participation in quarterly recitals.
- There is no limit to the number of students a teacher may enter; however, scheduling is at the discretion of the Chair and may result in multiple recitals if Chair receives enough entries. These are typically done at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Sometimes a recital might be a little longer than an hour if dividing into two would be too short.
- Any instrument is welcome.
- All pieces must be memorized.
- Elementary students' pieces should be 16 measures long. excluding repeats.
- Students may play ensembles at the DSTMA recitals. Ensemble pieces do not need to be memorized. Typically, there is only one piano (a note will be made on the calendar if a recital will have two pianos available).
- $6 for up to 4 minutes or music, $9 for up to 6 minutes, $12 for up to 12 minutes.
